He was a private sector adviser on Latin American matters and the president’s private sector delegate to the inaugurations of the presidents of Argentina, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. He testified before Congress. He was State Finance Chair for the presidential campaigns of Al Gore in 1988 and Bob Kerrey in 1992. He served as National Vice Chairman of Finance for the Democratic Party. He is a member of the US/Brazil Business Development Council. And now he’s joined the board of FoliuMed. This is a medical cannabis company that manufactures and researches in Germany, and cultivates the drug in Colombia. Glicken will expand institutional and business relationships in the Americas.

Glicken praises Foliumed

Glicken sang the praises of FoliuMed. He remarked that what impressed him most about it was its leadership team under founder Oliver Zugel. He added that since 2018, it has developed using its own capital and sold products in eight countries on three continents. “[I]t offers German pharma quality at affordable prices.”

Zugel repaid the favour. He described his company as “honoured to be able to count on Howard’s advice.” This, he commented, is based on 40 years of experience in business and politics. He also called Glicken “a successful entrepreneur.”
