What Are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in marijuana and cannabis plants. The main psychoactive compound in cannabis is THC, also known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. It affects the brain by activating the reward system and signaling the release of dopamine, a neurotransmitter important for mood and pleasure. Cannabis containing THC produces a higher level of dopamine than normal, leading to euphoric feelings. There are many ways to consume cannabis, including capsules, edibles, oils, and other products.
